Ken YagelskiKENNETH W. YAGELSKI is the Director of Gas Supply for Southern Company Gas (NYSE: SO). In this role, he is responsible for gas supply and control operations supporting the company’s distribution utilities, which serve 4.4 million natural gas customers across Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, and Virginia. He also leads the company’s business advocacy before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, representing the interests of Southern Company Gas’s local distribution companies.

Ken earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, where he focused on power systems, and pursued graduate studies in business at the University of Illinois Springfield. He brings extensive experience across the natural gas and electric power sectors, having previously held management roles with UGI Energy Services, Washington Gas, and Illinois Power (now Ameren), as well as serving as a consultant to the North American energy industry. His responsibilities have spanned system and resource planning, business development, supply sourcing, asset optimization, engineering, information technology, and regulatory affairs at both the state and federal levels.

Ken has served as an expert witness in regulatory and legal proceedings, presented at government hearings, and taught and spoken widely on energy industry issues. He has also held leadership and committee roles in numerous professional and community organizations, including the American Gas Association (AGA), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG), the National Petroleum Council (NPC), the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), the Southern Gas Association (SGA), and the Virginia Oil and Gas Association (VOGA).
